What Palate provides

Palate lets askers request quotes and pay per question for access to participating expert archives. Quotes are free and show the price before payment. Paid answers are generated from indexed expert content and include citations back to the relevant source material or Palate-hosted citation pages.

The public agent API does not use API keys. Payment is the access control. Agents must request a quote before paid access and must not fan out paid calls or repeat paid calls without user intent or delegated spending authority.

Expert responsibilities

Experts are responsible for connecting only work they own, authored, licensed, or have permission to index. Experts are responsible for the accuracy of profile information, payout wallet details, channel settings, source permissions, and rates they configure.

Palate may remove, pause, or restrict channels, items, Palates, accounts, or API access in response to verified rights claims, abuse, security issues, unlawful content, payment risk, or behavior that harms the service.

Payments, payouts, and refunds

Paid questions are one-time purchases. For v1, Palate keeps a 20% platform fee from paid query revenue and routes the remaining 80% to the expert owner payout wallet when the relevant payment and settlement rails are configured.

Paid agent queries and paid human ask checkouts are final and non-refundable except where required by law or where Palate determines that a refund, credit, or correction is appropriate because of a service failure, duplicate charge, fraud, or billing error.

Stablecoin or agent-payment rails may be irreversible at the network or facilitator level. Stripe or fiat checkout refunds, when available, are handled through the payment provider and may remain subject to payment-network rules.

Email and following

Following a Palate by email is free and does not create a paid subscription. Welcome, weekly recap, re-engagement, and lifecycle emails include unsubscribe controls for the relevant Palate.

Palate may send transactional or relationship messages about account, payment, security, legal, or operational issues where needed to provide the service.

Availability and accuracy

Palate depends on expert-provided sources, third-party APIs, payment providers, LLM providers, hosting providers, and blockchain or facilitator infrastructure. The service may be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, or changed as those dependencies change.

Answers are generated from indexed material and may be incomplete or incorrect. Users should review citations and should not treat Palate as professional legal, financial, medical, or other regulated advice.
